Blog Challenge: Baller Adventures

THE RULES:
You have to choose one baller to do each of the following activities with.
You can't choose the same baller for more than two answers.
You have to explain your reasons behind each answer.
Bonus lolz for being specific with certain questions!

Who would you choose to...

1) Go backpacking across Europe with?
Raul Gonzalez- We've already spent a lot of quality time together in a tent, it just feels right.

2) Teach you their language?
Paolo De Ceglie- He has a proper deep guy voice and can start by whispering sweet nothings into my ear!

3) Go on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with?
Niko Kranjcar- He's a smart cookie and I think we could realy go for the mil!

4) Bake a chocolate carrot cake with?
Fabio Cannavaro- I want to bake a cake all reversa master chef style!

5) Get drunk and sing karaoke with?
Pepe Reina- That way when I sing horribly, I won't be the most memorable part of that performance. Camareroooo!

6) Go on an extreme sports holiday with?
Paolo De Ceglie- Lots of shirtless activity and lots of adrenaline flowing!

7) Raise money for underprivileged kids with?
Iker Casillas- he does it already, I'll just tag along and watch him look pretty.

8) Marry and have lots of sex and babies with?
Bojan Krkic- because it's going to happen! I'm realistic like that.

9) Play an embarrassingly tabloid-worthy prank on?
Christoph Metzelder- Revenge is a biotch!

10) Have a short but wholly satisfying sordid affair with?
Canna- together we shall bake many a cake. Not that I would ever cheat of course!

11) Go to a fancy dress event with?
Cesc Fabregas- We would have the best costumes ever and I know he would wear whatever and look amazing doing so!

12) Have a drunken hook up that you may regret with?
Ruud Van Nistelrooy- He's about the only person I would go there with that I might end up actually regretting later. I'm okay with the harassment that comes along with this answer though.

13) Go ballroom dancing with?
Roque Santa Cruz- He's tall and I just think that he would make an excellent dance partner.

14) Pull off an Ocean's Eleven style heist with?
Kaka- I just want to bring out his BA side. I know it's in there somewhere!

15) Go on a secret mission with?
Fernando Torres- We all know he has the incredible parkour skillz, so those should come in handy.

Blog Challenge: Music Specialty Genre

I am so late on this.

We all have different music genre's that we know specifically about. It has been decided that mine is Emo. I personally call it alt-___ (punk, rock, whatever) but emo is the title I'm going to use for it even though most of the bands I'm going to discuss really hate that label.

Anyways, my specialty starts circa 2004 and goes through the present. I know there are songs you incorporate or would be more popular for these bands, but this is my blog, I am choosing the songs.

My first one kind of set off the trend:

The Killers- Somebody Told Me

Then came Fall Out Boy with Sugar, We're Going Down. I should use that song, but FOB doesn't care and neither do I so I Don't Care is going to be my song choice. This video also kind of makes me laugh.

Panic! at the Disco of course are a staple to this genre and I Write Sins Not Tragedies is a fave of theirs.

Cobra Starship- Snakes on A Plane
This song is just so amazing on so many different levels

The Academy Is... - Everything We Had

Of course you can't speak of Emo without mentioning Bright Eyes and Conor Oberst. This video is one of my favorites. So many inside things and just the amazingness of writing backwards. Easy/Lucky/Free

Blog Challenge: Favorite and least favorite words

Procrastination FTW! So this is my current list of my top ten favorite words in no particular order. I don't know why I like them, but I do. Very much so in fact!
  • nonchalant: coolly unconcerned, indifferent, or unexcited
  • nuisance: One that is inconvenient, annoying, or vexatious; a bother
  • zeitgeist: the spirit of the time; general trend of thought or feeling characteristic of a particular period of time.
  • discombobulate: to confuse or disconcert; upset; frustrate
  • bamboozle: to deceive or get the better of (someone) by trickery, flattery, or the like
  • follicle: a small cavity, sac, or gland.
  • orifice: an opening or aperture, as of a tube or pipe
  • shenanigans: a mischievous or deceitful trick, practice, etc.
  • palindrome: a word, line, verse, number, sentence, etc., reading the same backward as forward
  • flabbergasted: To cause to be overcome with astonishment; astound.
On the opposite end are a few of my least favorite words. These are words that when used I really truly cannot stand. Again, I don't know what it is about these words, but I just hate them!
  • horny
  • lover
  • reckon

Blog Challenge: Why do I support the teams I support?

Oh wow, look at me super procrastinating on this weeks blog challenge. Oh well, it's just how I do.

If you haven't noticed by now I support Real Madrid and Juventus. This is a hard topic for me to write about because I don't actually know why I chose to support either team. It was onced charged that I supported both teams due to a certain constant smiling Italian hottie, but that's just simply not true. I started supporting both teams when said hottie was busy playing for Intercrimnale.

I got into footie/soccer thru my general love of most sports. I came across an EPL game on Fox Sports. It was a pre-recorded one and I really liked it. I can't remember who it was, but I started watching it once a week whenever Fox Sports decided they would play it. I didn't get majorly into it until World Cup 2002. After that I loved it, the drama, the goals, the player, just all of it! I continued to watch the occasional international and EPL match, but basic cable really limited my viewing options. Then my family upgraded and I was introduced to GOLtv and FSN.

Again, I have no idea how I started supporting Real Madrid, but the best answer I can give is from when I saw them play live in 2006 against Utah's local team Real Salt Lake. I watched La Liga and I really like Real Madrid and Villareal, but didnt' really support one over the other. Once I saw Real Madrid in person, I guess that's when I decided they were going to be my team.

I started watching Serie A and a lot of people knock it for being more boring and having less goals, but I appreciate great defenses a lot more than most. I don't need a big sweeping scoreline and I find it a nice contradiction to some of the specatacles in La Liga. Again, I have no idea why I decided to support Juventus, but I did. They seemed like a really cool team so I just went with it.

My story is obviously not as exciting as everyone else's and is pretty much just me not knowing anything, but there it is.

Blog Challenge (Halloween Edition): The bads of Trick-or-Treating

The bads of trick-or-treating can be interpreted many different ways. I could do a post on giving away candy, having to take kids out, the possible dangers of going door to door or random peoples houses, but that simply isn't my style. I decided instead to do a post on the top 10 worst trick-or-treat handouts that I have at one point recieved and why. I obviously don't trick-or-treat anymore, but this will maybe help you know what kids who still do want. This also allows for me to make a list and lists are always fun.

#10- Candy Corn- When people claim to hate candy corn, I know it isn’t true. I know that really, deep down inside, they just hate themselves. However, if you are one of the people who don't hate yourself, then you will go out and buy candy corn.

#9- Dum Dums- What's best about these is that they come in so many artificial flavors that there is always at least one you like, the bad about it however is that you rarely get that flavor. Also, a lot of people just simply don't like dum dums and only give them away so they themselves are not tempted to eat the Halloween candy they bought. This makes for an overload of what isn't even a full sucker. It is also a sign of someone who is cheap

#8- Mary Janes- I don't really like peanut butter, that's my only reason. Tragically a lot of people buy these because they are a "Halloween" candy and I always got a ton of them.

#7- Tootsie Roll Assorted Pack- So many tootsie rolls and in all form! I like them, but in little amounts. The boxes of dots are probably the only thing from the assortment that I like but then it only contains about 5 pieces and that's a let down.

#6- Smarties- I mean really? You couldn't come up with anything better?!

#5- Hard Candy- In any form it's a Halloween fail! Who goes thru their trick-or-treat bag thinking "Wow, I hope there is something small and hard I can suck on for about half and hour." No one does, that's who. They are also the worst for leaving that coating of sugar on your teeth.

#4- Anything 'Fun Size'- Since when was one bite of a candy bar fun?

#3- Apples- The last time there was an apple associated with witches, princesses, and small people, someone was trying to poison the other person. This is not okay. I went trick-or-treating for either tricks or treats, this qualifies as neither!

#2- Tootbrushes- Unless my parent is extremely stupid or neglectful why wouldn't I already have a toothbrush? Also, as if I needed more proof that dentist's are evil.

#1- "Halloween is satanic" Pamphlets- If you have never got one of these, boy, you are missing out! I remember recieving one when I was little and my mom took it and threw it out before I could read it. I think if I recieved one of those only a few years ago I might have gone and torched their front lawn and vindicate them. Luckily, I am a lot calmer now. However, Halloween is a fun time for little kids, keep your nonsense to yourself and stop trying to ruin it for everyone, Jerk!

This concludes my list of bad handouts for trick-or-treating. I hope you are all now informed and don't hand out any of this nonsense. It's not wanted!

Blog Challenge: Cowboys

I have decided to take part in blog challenges. Every week I will randomly choose a number that is attached to subject and do a post on that topic. Callie, Lucy, Sarah, Ali and Gina are also participating, so it should be good!

This week, my topic is cowboys. I had no idea what to write about cowboys because I don't really think about them. They are really of no interest to me and I don't really know much about them, but then I guess that's why it's a challenge.

Cowboys have long been a symbol of the American old west. They are associated with manliness and the rugged outdoors. They are always pictured in cowboy hats and cowboy boots with tight jeans and button shirts, but there is a lot about cowboys that you may not know:

  • Cowboys originated in Spain. The ways of the cowboy was brought to the America's with the conquistadors
  • The word 'cowboy' is derived from vaquero, which is Spanish for 'a person who manages cattle'
  • The cowboys' real purpose is to make men feel inferior for being less manly than they are
  • Cowboys are drunk all the time
  • Cowboys are only second in badassness to ninjas, pirates and baby animals
  • There is a cowboy movie about a mountain that broke it's back that stirred up some controversy due to the unrealistic idea that a mountain has a back
  • Cowboys invented assless leather chaps
  • Cowboys wander aimlessly among the plains yearning for simpler ways of life
  • Contrary to popular belief, cowboys are neither part cow nor part boy
  • One of the village people was a cowboy
  • Country singers try to gain credibility by impersonating cowboys
  • There are cowboys in Canada
  • Cowboys are most often portrayed in pornography
  • Some notable cowboys in history include the following: Zorro, Gumby, That Guy From the Village People, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Charles in Charge, Chuck Norris and Jake Gyllenhaal
If you can't tell, this is my pathetic attempt at humor, go with it.
