Black Friday- It's more than soul crushing

Today is Black Friday. This is something I'm sure every American knows about and probably absolutely hates. For all the people who do not call the States home, let me explain. Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving. It is the single biggest shopping day in the entire US the entire year. People camp outside of shops just to get there when the doors open at 5am for great deals on absolutely everything. I never shop on Black Friday because when the point comes that I am spending over an hour in line and competing for the item I want/need just to save a few bucks, I think I really need to evaluate the quality of my life. I however was forced to go out into the world of crazy shoppers today and it's not something I feel I want to talk about. Instead I present to you, some memorable, crazy Black Friday videos. Seriously, this is what we have come to to save a little bit of cash, it's insanity! (also, just more proof Walmart is evil and needs to implode)

The employees at Best Buy have the right idea (more proof Best Buy is where it's at ;) )

Hello Kitty, Hello World

I was at Walmart a few nights ago. Now I rarely go to Walmart and in fact I try to avoid it at all costs. There are many reasons for my disdain of Walmart, but the main one being that it is evil. Anyways, I was forced to go into the store of horrors when it turned out they were the only store within my area that had the CD I wanted. So I headed in and went straight to the electronics department and headed for the CD I needed so I could get in and then get out as quickly as I could. All was going to plan until I found something that stopped me dead in my tracks...
Hello World is the debut album from Hello Kitty. I'm assuming it's called Hello World because most of the world doesn't know about Hello Kitty and this is her big introduction into the mainstream. I LOVE Hello Kitty and I am a huge fan, but even this is a bit much for me. I have seen the cartoons and she can't even talk, how is she supposed to have a full length album out?! I almost bought it out of pure curiousity but decided against it as my cash available was limited. I came home and I researched it and I am now very happy I didn't buy it because it is a sham! It has 11 songs, none of which are sung by hello kitty!

Track listing for Hello World:
1. Come On, Come On - Keke Palmer
2. Getaway - Cheryl Yie
3. Hello Kitty - Mandy Ventrice
4. Hey Yeah - Gen
5. Hello World - Ainjel Emme
6. To All The Girls - Jennifer Marks
7. Get This Party Started - Cheryl Yie
8. I Smile - Lindsay Dennis
9. Take It Easy (Chococat’s Jam) - The Seventeens
10. Sweeter Than Sweet - Emma Hunton
11. Do You Really Wanna - Cori Yarckin

This was really disappointing and made me sad about overmarketing of characters and products and brands, that is until Thursday when I saw a robot Hello Kitty comforter!

I looted the town

After a difficult week I needed some serious retail therapy so I spent the day out shopping. It was fun and overall a pretty successful trip! Here's what I got:

New sheets for a few reasons: I don't like my old ones and it's getting colder so I wanted warmer bedding. Also, flannel sheets are just the best!A robot Hello Kitty comforter. I didn't need a comforter or any blankets, but like I needed an excuse to buy this!Again, it's getting colder so some new footwear was required. I got some boots and some really warm leather ballet flats.
A new bag. It's so shiny!Sunglasses because I can never have enough and I broke an old pair.Lash blast mascara because I've really wanted to try it for some time.A 'Party In My Tummy' sticker. If you haven't seen that video I suggest you youtube it! I also got a Michaelangelo TMNT zipper pull. I wanted to get all four, but I felt that was a big greedy of me.Kidrobot is one of the best online stores and I order from there all the time, but when I went to Graywhale today they had some in store and I had to buy some. I got two of the LE Simpsons figurines, two Dunny's and a DIYqee and a DIY metallic!
Three CD's because while I have an iTunes account and use my iPod and all, I still love owning the physical CD. They're not newly out or anything, but I finally got around to buying them. I got Conor Oberst's self titled album, The Academy Is... Fast Times at Barrington High and The Honorary Title's Scream & Light Up The Sky.
