Out With The Old, In With The New

So apparently it's a new decade, or some nonsense like that. I've been hearing a lot about new year's resolutions and other retardness and I have decided not to partake. I don't need a new year to change my ways. Instead, I'm going to kick of 2010 with a new love!

Before I start, I would like the reader to beware- he is not my cwoffy type. He does have many of the characteristics I look for in a man; glasses, brown hair, blue eyes, tall and nerdy. This may come as a shock, but I am totally enamored with Ed Helms.
I can't really explain it, but I find him just absolutely endearing and I'm in love with him. He likes Civil War reenactments, he plays a mean banjo, he can impersonate Tom Brockaw, he sings really well, he's been on two of my favorite shows ever (The Office and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) and he's super hilarious. If those don't win you over, I don't know what will. Anyways, I leave you with some of my favorite Ed Helms moments. Now sit back and swoon with me!

Oh... Canada.... Best part of this:
Canadian: I'm a typical Canadian reserve until those principles and morals have been stepped on.
Ed Helms: And then what?
Canadian: And then I, I voice my opinion, or I'll write a letter of concern.
Ed Helms: You're Adorable.

My Inglorious Return

I am back! I have missed my blog, but I have decided to revamp my relationship with it and show it the love and care that it really deserves. You are probably asking yourself, what could be so important that would make me return after 4 months of inaction and my answer to you is two words: Inglorious Basterds!

I decided to have a movie night last night and I went specifically to rent that movie and yet could not find it anywhere. I was purchasing The Hangover (another amazingly awesome film by the way) and decided to purchase Inglorious Basterds as well.

For those who are unaware- It is a Quentin Tarantino movie which means it is super twisted, uber bloody, extremely violent and out of control amazing. I'm not good at analyzing movies, but this is definitely going to be one of my favorites. It's about two and a half hours long and yet I found myself wanting it to go on.

Anyways, there is also another point to this post, and that is an excuse for me to post the following video:

Paolo picspam

I've had a downer of a week and decided to surf the web and came across a mecca of pics for Paolo De Ceglie. I had a lot of issues finding proper pictures of him before, but this Italian forum had a ton so I decided to share with you some of my favorites that I found.
(it's called a bra lady)

I also found some really good pics of him when he was a bit younger with the Juve youth level teams. These are great because they also include his teammates of Claudio Marchisio and Sebastien Giovinco.

A study in pictures

Vanilla Bear often harasses me for liking Fall Out Boy, but like them, I don't care what you think. We were posting music videos and I posted Sugar We're Going Down where Vanilla Bear then proceeded to state that Patrick (the lead singer) has gained weight and he used to be thin in that video which has inspired me to do a study in pictures: Fall out boy edition.

Let's start with their earliest albums and work our way to the most current.

As if I needed yet another reason

I LOVE Fueled By Ramen record label. They are my favorite label and I LOVE almost every band they have signed. My heart could almost explode with how much I love them, but to make sure that I loved them even more, they stepped up their game. I placed an order for my This Providence hoodie and the LE PATD Pretty. Odd. album and when I received it (like 10 days ago, right before I left for vacation.) I was pretty suprised when I opened the box and sitting there right on top was a greeting card from FBR with a picture of Gym Class Heroes from their holiday greetings video and it was signed by all four members, including my box member, Eric Roberts. Also, on the back it was numbered and it's 4/50. I'm pretty high up on that list there :D

Sidenote on this video, I think it's just hilarious how Disashi has candy canes taped to him.

Musical Hotties

It has been a while since I found a new hottie to add to my box. I found comfort in music (as you do) and through rolling stone magazine and a few mistitled pictures, I have found two new hot guys.

The first is singer/songwriter/sometimes actor Teddy Geiger. I came across him while googling Tyson Ritter. I remember seeing him on MTV Cribs and didn't really pay too much attention, but I was mistaken because he is grade A hottie. He reminds me a lot of Bojan and I decided a lot of that was due to the fact that he has the same kind of expressive eyebrows as him. His music is also pretty good, but I'm kind of a sucker for singer/songwriters.
(^This picture just absolutely kills me)
The second I came across in Rolling Stone. I was reading the magazine and it was a little section about what your favorite album of the year was and Jared Followill (bassist of Kings of Leon, not a huge fan of them, but they're okay) had his say. Anyways, the pic of him was super gorgeous. I can't find a version of it online, but no matter, there are plenty other to choose from :D Vanilla Bear claims that I only like him for his hair because I am a "hair whore" (her words, not mine), but alas, I like his eyes too :P Also, I am NOT a hair whore, I am a hairlot! (^ Specifically for Vanilla Bear)

Brendon vs. Brandon

I promised Vanilla Bear a Brandon Flowers post forever ago and I've so far failed to complete that promise, but I am fulfilling it now. I can't have a post about Brandon Flowers without also including Brendon Urie because they are basically the same people. The only difference between the two (besides the obvious age :P) is that one has the ability to follow up with a really good second album, while the other one's follow up attempts have been nothing short of disasters (you know who is who!) This is a pretty bold claim, but I promise I have evidence
  • They are both Mormon
  • Both are lead singers of bands (Brandon: The Killers, Brendon: Panic At The Disco)
  • Both play piano and sometimes guitar in their respective bands
  • They aren't completely different looking
  • Both were born in Las Vegas
  • Both started out loving the eyeliner
  • They each have a similar sense of style
  • Both have Utah connections
  • They both made really really good first albums
I have more points, but I can't remember them all at the moment so just go with it, anyways, the point of this post is the pics, so enjoy!

This whole world needs an anthem

Sarebear did a wonderful post on the breakup of Phantom Planet. I think she is a far bigger person than I am and is dealing with it a lot better than me. I have been in a very melancholic state of mind towards the whole situation and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I'm not happy.

Besides Blink-182, I can't remember having a band that I really really liked breaking up. The breakup of Phantom Planet seems a whole lot more personal than the breakup of Blink-182 and it's really affecting me more than I thought possible. I just keep listening to their 4 incredible albums and it's sad to know that that's it. There won't be more.

Phantom Planet has always held a dear place in my heart, they are even in my blog header. I remember when I was 14 years old and I got a copy of their second album The Guest. That was one of the albums that really molded my musical tastes and opened up a whole new musical genre. I still listen to that album and love every single word of it. I remember when in 9th grade I was asked who my three favorite bands were and one of them was Phantom Planet.

I know that Phantom Planet have had their problems so this shouldn't be so suprising, but they just this very year came back from a 4 year musical hiatus just as good as ever. I had Raise The Dead on pre-order and I couldn't wait. This meant that they would tour again and I would be able to see them live like I have always wanted too. I had hope. I saw them with Panic at the Disco and they were just AMAZING. All seemed to be going right.

Apparently I was wrong. It was merely a month ago I saw them on November 3rd and it was awesome, but as it's said, all good things must come to end. I don't understand why or what happened, but I am very sad about this.

I don't really know how to end this, but I do want to say Thank You to Phantom Planet for creating awesome music and showing me the way. They really are one of the bands that made me not just like music, but really love it and I will miss them very much!

I am not neglectful

I have not been neglecting my blog, I have just been uber busy of late. This is just a quick post to share with you all how much I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PROVIDENCE! Yeah, they're pretty awesome and so I share with you some songs off of their self titled album.

Love calculators

I was searching for some more desktop toolbar gadgets and I came across a Love Calculator gadget. I downloaded it and immediately started pairing my name up with all of my favorite hotties. The results were mostly poor and then Chocolate Bear found two other Love Calculators so I decided to try them all and average together my scores from the three calculators. I have no idea how something so small was so amusing, but these were my results:
Stephanie and Bojan
Average: 53%

Stephanie and Adrian
Average: 34%

Stephanie and Fabio
Average: 32%

Stephanie and Paolo
Average: 52%

Stephanie and Raul
Average: 43%

Stephanie and Matthew aka Best Buy Guy
Average: 47%
Basically my theory of Bojan and I being MFEO seems mostly accurate by these results.

I used my desktop widget and these other two love calculators:

Love Calculator 2

Paolo, my love!

Google has decided to stop playing mind games with me and when I googled Paolo De Ceglie, his official website showed up once again as it used to. In repayment for such trickery Google were kind enough to (poorly) translate it for me. Some of the stuff I already knew from the last time I google translated his page, but it was updated and the pictures were finally bigger and yeah. Anyways, not a lot is known about Paolo (other than Tuono and double cheeseburgers :P) so I thought I would do a post to inform you on my #2 Italian love (behind Canna of course.)
The stats first I guess:

He was born in Aosta, Italy. He came up thru the Juventus youth system (from age 14 and up) and is now a Juventus first team player. He spent the 2007-08 season playing for Siena where he scored a few goals. He is a defender. He is left footed therefore making him a left back. He can also play as a defensive midfielder when need be. He is 6’0” and was born on September 17th, 1986.

Anyways, here is a list of just random factoids along with some pics, so enjoy (this started turning into an MFEO list like halfway thru, but whatever, I just went with it)!
  • He started playing football at the age of five and got into because of his father, who is a coach and physical trainer
  • He loves crepes with Nutella on them (Oh my God, who makes crepes with Nutella on them all the time? Oh, that’s right, I do!)
  • He loves beach volleyball and basketball (I like basketball)
  • He likes Rihanna’s Please Don’t Stop The Music and Survivor's Eye of The Tiger (so do I)
  • He prefers to stay in and eat rather than go out (I can cook for him)
  • Paolo loves skiing and finds it relaxing, but has given it up (I skied once and I gave it up)
  • His family owns a youth football training camp where he goes and volunteers. He is also an honorary director there.

(in the middle of course)
This pic was at the camp his family owns, taken in June of 2008. Two comments about his pic:
  1. He doesn't have a mullet in it and yet the olympics were like 6 weeks after that pic, so his hair obviously grows bad super fast! Okay, so he kind of does have the mullet, but not nearly as serious as it was at the olympics....
  2. That's in Aosta where he is from and that seriously looks just like where I live! (Another MFEO, maybe...)
