This is by far one of the coolest things I have come across lately. This is a video made by Reza Dolatabadi as his graduate film in college. It is 5 minutes long and consists 6,000 individual paintings shown at the rate of 20 paintings a second and took 2 years to complete!

Ok so this is cool, but...
1) Isn't showing still images at whatever rate per second exactly the same as regular animation?
and
2) Reza Dolatabadi obviously cared way too much about his college work :P
yeah, but with paintings VB, paintings!
